Five more states expanded hygienist scope in 2025. They can now place certain restorations, administer local anesthetic in some cases, and prescribe limited medications. Your state probably has a bill pending.

Why it matters: Your current hiring plan assumes hygienists do hygiene. That's changing. In 10 years, hygienists will be dual-licensed operatives. Your business model needs room for that evolution.
